[there's a small plate of freshly-baked cookies that have been shaped into cute yellow stars, along with a glass of lemonade, just outside of Aides's door]
[rather than a cubecall, Charon's ghost sheep finds and pesters Aides into taking a letter delivery! he gets two sheets of paper.]
-
SHEET ONE:
RITUAL EXPERIMENTS:
- Using the Wolf King's Blessing mark = useless, doesn't seem to work for non-Weeds.
- Summoning a different demon with its rune during a ritual with intent to override = new demon does have an effect, but the framework of the original ritual is not overwritten.
- Redrawing the ritual demon's rune = a subordinate of the demon appears to assist them in some way, does not shift control of the ritual at all from original summoner.
-
NEW INFORMATION (DEATH, GHOSTS):
- Last night Lily attempted to call on specific spirits from the pasture's history.
- There are apparently three groups of spirits in death: the true dead of the pasture (dead long enough to have reached oblivion, actively suffer when called upon, can no longer be revived, and must be reached very deep for), the restless dead (those who have not fully accepted death -- these are normally what Lily calls on), and summoned souls (those not native to the pasture at all, currently in a limbo between life and death.)
- Death has confirmed she will not interfere or intervene if summoned souls are interfered with by the pasture's living inhabitants (reclaimed from her, etc.)
- King Stormia's ghost referred to the Wolf King as a friend, said 'the kingdom could be saved,' and referred to 'a mistake.' We gained very limited information, as he was only able to manifest for a short time. Stormy had no useful followup input when I passed him the message.
- Stormy did, however, clarify that he is able to kill or throw out Weeds with impunity as they are unbound to the pasture, and is only not doing so due to Blossom's insistence.
- Death herself, while apparently omnipresent and all-seeing in the pasture, will not give information that pertains to the living -- quite verbatim, 'the dead should not interfere with the living.'
- The Wolf King's child is not dead, or at least not in Death's realm.
- The Wolf King is alive, but Death can hear his soul 'screaming, howling for peace.'
- While Death is not lifting the barrier of hell and torment between us and her anytime soon, she did clarify that she hears and sees messages left for her at her statue in the fountain, even if she does not answer them.
- Lily is unlikely to try to call the true dead again, as Death's punishment for doing so is certain to be severe.
Share this with your flock as you see fit. For obvious reasons I do not want this information in a publicly accessible form, or otherwise distributed to malicious Weeds.
--
SHEET TWO:
I filtered out some of the information everyone got, obviously, and -- well, you were there. But I didn't have time to tell you the ritual findings before, and I thought you might want to be aware of what I'm giving the other shepherds.
Stormy scoffed at "J" being Jim Deer/the Earth Beast, but he had an involuntary physical reaction when I said the initial aloud, which he wasn't aware of until I pointed it out. Might be part of his real name? I asked Bluebell to consider checking with the deer, just in case.
[at some point Aides got a call to meet Charon and Lethe at the hot springs, ostensibly for rest and relaxation! and there will probably be some relaxation: they brought pomegranate juice and plum wine with them, and a few suitable little snacks. Lethe also has his little soundproof button out but maybe that's just for extra privacy who knows.]
Aides! Perfect timing. Do you want some juice? I wasn't sure if you'd be tired of pomegranates or not.
