I was still able to vaguely sense where Lily was, and when I took a couple of steps into the mist my sense of direction back to the pasture remained. But everything else was locked down.

That still stinks, but it's not too bad. I vote if anyone gets cursed it should be you. I'll leave that confirmation in your capable hands. Ah, but before you do that, I want to try and turn a mist wolf back to normal. Do you think we could do that with the ones in the greenhouse?

We can certainly try, though I caution removing them all might render the greenhouse useless to grow wolfsbane...how were you going to do that, though?

I was going to get a bucket of fountain water and shove a mist wolf into it along with a memory coin and see if it did anything. The memory coins were helpful for Miss Coco and Miss Daisy, and I think even Stormy got some.

The theory was that we just needed a little water to get the coin to work and just shove the head in. But if we need more I can get a kiddie pool. Or we can drag a mist wolf to the fountain.

Let's just try the bucket first.

We are not letting the things out of the greenhouse.

I was hoping to avoid the fountain option for an experiment we don't know will work. Especially for something that isn't incredibly high on the priority list. I'll start small.

When you say it like that...

We really do get up to a lot of nonsense in this place, don't we.

We're not trying to get into nonsense...It's better than doing nothing, isn't it? If Blossom had her way we'd all be sitting around the pasture peacefully bonding and not getting into any trouble. Kindly waiting to be slaughtered every few weeks when another demon pops up with a crazy ritual. But we're not sheep. We're people. No one can reasonably expect us to sit back and take this.

Honestly, though, it's working. We have a significantly clearer picture of what's going on, solid guesses to fit in the knowledge gaps, and two months is not a terrible timeframe for the amount we've gathered.

Each step remains risky, but we are still here.

I'd say we're making great progress. As long as we can keep pushing little by little, we'll have everything resolved within a year. Or sooner. That's not too bad.

It's weird to think about because so much has happened in the last two months. It feels like it's been a lot longer. I have to visit everyone else before I go home! Once I get back...I'll be stuck there for a while.

...I don't think going home has to be the end of our acquaintance, necessarily. Even if in cases like Lethe's it might be delayed.
